My Venice

Hello guys!

Today I want to tell you about my little trip to the most romantic city in the world.
Months ago I went to the Venice and finally I collected all photos to show how great it was.

My trip started from Piazzale Roma, it's entrance of the city and only one place where you can find land transport, because, as you know, there are no cars in Venice. We decided to skip maps and just walk. At the same time we could enjoy lots of unique art works made by famous Europe architects and painters. So we followed groups of people and recently appeared in the heart of Venice, on Saint Mark's Square. Here u can feel magnificence of it's architecture. Thousand years old buildings force hold your breathe and imagine times of Doge's and Republic of Venice.

Doge's Palace (Palazzo Ducale)
One of the signs of Venice and residence of government.
Many times this palace was destroyed and reconstructed but nothing could pull down the glory of it's gorgeous architecture.

St Mark's Basilica
Probably the main attribute of St Mark's Square. To enter this full of gold cathedral you need to stand in a long line and leave all your bags in storage. Honestly, I wasn't impressed by the view inside.
It's different from Gothic style and seems like orthodontic's churches. I liked all other cathedrals much more. You can find it just walking through the city. But here you can go up to the balcony and see the whole St. Mark's Square.

The streets and views in Venice are amazing. Here some photos for you.

And now I want to show you my favourite place in Venice. It's Santa Maria Della Salute church.
It was built to stop Italian plague that killed one third of venetian people.
Look at this amazing statues of the four evangelists, this work is genius.

We wanted to visit some island, but wasted to much money in first days(
So I took a picture of one.

And this is bridge of sights. A lot of tourists believe that it is very romantic place and kiss under it gives you immortal love, but actually this bridge was connection between prison and Doge's palace. From it's windows convicts saw Venice the last time. That's why they started to sigh and gave name for this bridge.

Don't forget to visit Venetian Arsenal.
In contrast to the centre it's pretty quiet place and you can rest of tourist invasion.

I liked my journey very much, so I have some advices for you.
If you want to visit Venice, try to choose early spring, because there are plenty tourists in warm seasons. And be careful with tips and taxes in restaurants to avoid unpleasant situations.
Venice is very small city, so you don't have to choose apartments in the centre, but don't live in Mestre, this is mainland and you will need to go on island by bus. And don't forget to try a gondola, looks from water are different. Unfortunately we haven't seen a carnival, but Venice is beautiful in all times and seasons.
Here I will write some words to be comfortable in Italy:
Ciao - hello, hi and goodbye
Buongiorno - good morning/afternoon
Grazie - thank you
Hope you enjoy my post and will go to visit this beautiful city on your own.
See you later, guys)

Swift

Ok, I came back from my cool holidays in Europe and now it's time to share with you my recent admiration: new Apple programming language.
At first, I like Apple products a lot, they make magic things, that are the most comfortable and pretty stuff in the world, so it's not surprising that I choose iOS development after few years of geeky C++. Secondly, as you now, last summer Apple presented Swift, new language for developing iOS apps to make things even better. There is common opinion that this language is too young, but for me at this stage it looks almost perfectly. It's fast as swallow, clear as crystal and pretty as that girl in bar when you've had a few.
So probably now you want to ask how to start? For beginning you need to be familiar with OOP and have some basic experience in programming. Once I realised I want to make my own application I didn't know how to start too. But accidentally I saw Udacity app and wanted to try it. That guys made cool course that helps you become familiar with syntax and basic principles of Swift and iOS development and shows you how to make your first iOS app. Nowadays, thanks God, there are a lot of useful services in internet that helps you learn how to programming fast, easy and not so painful as at school. Also there are a lot of forums and guys like you, who are exploring mysterious world of Swift and want to share their wisdom with each other. So, I'm going to continue making my little app, that I trust you'll see soon. Hope it was inspiring for you to start programming in Swift. See you soon with new post about some special features and thanks for reading so much. Finally, one more hint: honour your documentation and updates, so that you may live long in the land the Apple is giving you.
Ciao!
